The Stadium Theatre Appoints New Executive Director/CEO

 

             The Board of Directors unanimously appointed Jennifer Webb to the position of Executive Director and CEO of the Stadium Theatre Performing Arts Centre & Conservatory. This change in leadership follows Cathy Levesque’s announcement of retirement.

 

            Jennifer earned her Masters of Arts in Theatre Education from Emerson College and also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre, Speech, Psychology and Dance from Wagner College in New York. Webb earned The Superintendent’s Award for excellence in instructional leadership which speaks to her ability to lead and inspire. Under her leadership as Artistic Director, The Stadium has earned over 40 Broadway World Awards.

 

            Armand Desmarais, President of the Board of Directors, stated “Jennifer’s years of experience; immersed in the philosophy of the Stadium; has prepared her for this role. The board was impressed by her extensive experience and her numerous accolades. The combination of her expertise in the arts along with her broad vision for the future will be a powerful recipe for continued growth and innovation at the Stadium.”

Stocks are surging on Wall Street. It comes after Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell spoke this morning and suggested interest rate cuts are coming soon. The Dow Jones Industrial Average has been up over 800 points at times today. The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq have both been up over one-percent as well.        President Trump says he was unaware of a raid at the home of his former national security adviser John Bolton in Maryland. Speaking to reporters, Trump said he's "not a fan" of Bolton. Bolton, who became a strong critic of President Trump after he left the administration in 2019, had previously been accused of leaking classified material but an investigation didn't go anywhere.        Parole has been denied for Erik Menendez. California parole officials issued their decision Thursday night after an hours-long hearing at a correctional facility in San Diego. Three months ago, Erik and his older brother Lyle were re-sentenced to 50 years to life for the 1989 shotgun murders of their parents. The brothers have maintained the killings were in self defense claiming they were sexually abused by their father. Lyle is appearing before the parole board today.        California Democrats are moving forward with their own redistricting efforts. Governor Gavin Newsom signed the measure Thursday that calls for a special election aiming to redraw state maps that would most likely give Democrats five additional House seats. California's redistricting push comes as Texas Republicans move closer to finalizing their own reworked districts with the state senate in the Lone Star State expected to approve its measure today.        A dietitian at the Cleveland Clinic is offering tips on packing healthy lunches for children as they head back to school. Jennifer Hyland advises parents to try and have a grain, protein, fruit and veggie and healthy fat while avoiding snacky items like packaged chips and crackers and sugary drinks. She says the lunches don't have to be complicated. They could be a sandwich, wrap or pasta salad or even leftovers.        College football is back. A pair of ranked opponents duel in Dublin for the Aer Lingus College Football Classic on Saturday to kick off Week Zero. Number-20 Kansas State squares off against 21st-ranked Iowa State.
