Former President Trump is again questioning the validity of his trial after the second day of testimony wrapped up. Trump said the trial is being conducted at the behest of President Biden to keep him off the campaign trail. He is accused of covering up hush money payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels aimed at keeping her quiet about an extra-marital affair.        Donald Trump is criticizing President Biden for the escalating anti-Israel protests on college campuses. The former President is calling it a "disgrace" and blaming Biden for sending the wrong signals on Israel's conflict with Hamas. Trump compared the heavy police presence at his New York trial to the lack of law enforcement at nearby universities facing protests.        The Justice Department is reaching a nearly 140-million-dollar civil settlement with the victims of former USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar. It resolves claims the FBI mishandled the initial investigation into Nassar. He's in prison for sexually abusing hundreds of athletes under his medical care, including members of the U.S. Women's Gymnastics team.        A Minnesota state senator is being charged for allegedly breaking into her estranged stepmother's home to retrieve her deceased father's ashes. Nicole Mitchell's arrest could impact the Democrats' one-seat majority in the Minnesota Senate, potentially hindering their legislative agenda. Mitchell, a former meteorologist and Air National Guard lieutenant colonel, was found in the basement wearing all black clothing and a hat.        U.S. journalist Evan Gershkovich's appeal against the extension of his pre-trial detention in a Moscow espionage case is being denied. Gershkovich, a reporter for the "Wall Street Journal," has been in detention for over a year after being arrested in Russia. The espionage charges have been rejected by Gershkovich, his employer, and the U.S. government.        The NBA Playoffs continue with three games tonight. First, the Phoenix Suns will take on the Timberwolves in Minnesota in game two of their series. . Then, the Indiana Pacers will take on the Milwaukee Bucks for game two. Lastly, the Dallas Mavericks will look to avoid going down two-games-to-none against the Clippers in Los Angeles in game two of their series.
