The COVID-19 Vaccination for residents of North Smithfield 65 years of age and older is about to enter the final week, week four of scheduled vaccinations being performed at Monsignor Gadoury School (Our Lady Queen of Martyrs), 1409 Park Ave, Woonsocket, RI.
We will be receiving our final allotment of 80 vaccinations for week four of vaccinations on March 11th.
80 vaccines will be scheduled next week, and then, our allotted total will be depleted, (240 have already been administered). A special THANK YOU to the tremendous efforts of our EMA, Town Volunteers, North Smithfield Fire Department and Woonsocket Fire Department.
As directed by the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH), here are the guidelines we have followed:
· Vaccines have been distributed according to age only. At this point RIDOH is not taking health history into consideration.
· Once we are sent the link, the names (starting with the oldest) will be entered into a database and an appointment time will be assigned. You will then be contacted with a date and time for your appointment.
· We will then wait for the final week of scheduling to be sent to us from the RIDOH and continue in chronological order.
By the end of the day Thursday, March 11th, we will have administered our allotted 320 vaccines (1st dose). Those that have already received their first dose on February 18th, are scheduled to receive the second vaccination on March 18th, you cannot miss your second scheduled vaccination.
For residents that did not get scheduled for the limited vaccines administered by North Smithfield, please visit the State website at www.vaccinateri.org or call the
RI COVID-19 Hotline at 401-222-8022
FYI: CVS is receiving a new federal allocation of the new J&J vaccine this week to vaccinate adults 65+ (~2,700 total doses).
If you have submitted an application, with the Town of North Smithfield, please be assured that as we reach each age bracket, and vaccines are still available, you will be contacted by one of our volunteers and will be advised of your vaccination appointment date and time.
If you have signed up though the Town of North Smithfield and have decided to receive your vaccine elsewhere, please call our volunteers so we can remove your name from the list.
