SBA resumes Block Island Business Day

and 30 other lenders and state leaders


New Shoreham, RI – On Thursday, June 23, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will make its 22nd annual visit to Block Island.  The trip will include a walking tour of local businesses in the downtown area by SBA and state officials, as well as an opportunity for local entrepreneurs to meet with SBA resources partners and receive technical assistance for their business.

 

SBA New England Regional Administrator Mike Vlacich and Rhode Island District Director Mark S. Hayward will be joined by Lieutenant Governor Sabina Matos, Rhode Island Director of Business Regulation Liz Tanner, and other state and local officials and 30 lenders and resource partners.  The day will begin at Ballard’s Beach resort at 10:00 a.m. before embarking on the walking tour.

 

Joining the group will be the RI Small Business Development Center (SBDC) hosted by the University of Rhode Island, SCORE, and the Center for Women & Enterprise.  All three of these SBA funded resource partners will be accessible at Ballard’s until 12:30pm for any business owner looking for technical assistance or who has questions they would like to ask.  Additionally, a group of SBA lenders will also be available to speak with any small business interested in accessing capital.
