March 17 is fast approaching, so this week we have more food and drink news related to St. Patrick’s Day options in the Blackstone Valley. But first, we’ll share a very big announcement that so many of you have been waiting for…..

Rhode Island Spirits has announced their re-opening in their new location – 40 Bayley Street in Pawtucket!!! Opening weekend will be March 24-26. So plan to stop in and check out their new place. They’ve been working so hard and are anxious to show off their new home!!

And now onto more St. Patrick’s Day treats, good food and fun in the Blackstone Valley

280 George Washington Hwy., Smithfield, RI 02917

The Cheesecake of the Month at Blackie’s is Shamrock Cheesecake. It’s crème de menthe cheesecake on a rich black cocoa brownie crust topped with Bailey’s fudge and served with white chocolate-covered Lucky Charms.  If that doesn’t say “Happy St. Patrick’s Day”, I don’t know what does!

Uncle Ronnie’s Red Tavern

2692 Victory Highway, Harrisville, RI 02830

Head to Uncle Ronnie’s for a St. Patrick’s Day Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner for only $16.99! Dinner includes corned beef, cabbage, boiled potatoes, cabbage soup and a slice of rye bread. There will be live music by “True North” too. Or you may want to order from their fantastic regular MENU, as well as their special menus: Gluten-Free and Children’s Menu. They also have a special Dinner-For-Two menu (Wednesdays and Thursdays).

Gingersnaps Bakery

182 Front Street, Lincoln, RI 02865

I’ve heard that Gingersnaps is famous for their Irish Soda Bread….so pick one up at the store until March 17 and let me know what you think!  While you’re there, you can also get some beautifully decorated St. Patrick’s Day- themed cookies as well as their new menu item…..stuffed cookies!  They weigh a half pound each and you can choose from Chocolate Chip Nutella, Peanut Butter and S’Mores. They will soon be rotating in more flavors. The stuffed cookies are available in the store on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Thirsty Beaver
