Central Falls - Blackstone Valley Tourism Council is excited to announce that due to the popularity of our annual fall train trip to Putnam, CT on October 21, a history train excursion has been added for Saturday, October 28th.
The 2-hour train ride departs from Woonsocket, RI at 9 am and travels through the Blackstone River Valley and Worcester, MA on the way to Putnam, CT for an afternoon filled with fun! Plus, the Tourism Council has partnered with historian Barbara Zdravesky to create a tour booklet that includes informative history of the cities and towns along the route to enjoy at your leisure.
Upon arrival at the destination, there will be time to explore rural Putnam, CT and discover amazing antiquing spots, acclaimed local restaurants, art galleries, craft beer, historic sites and much more! You’ll be there just in time to check out the giant sandcastle & scarecrow display along the Quinebaug River at Rotary Park, too! The train will depart Putnam, CT at 2:30 PM for return back to Woonsocket, RI at 4:30 PM.
