BROOKLYN UNITED MARCHING BAND TO HEADLINE AUTUMNFEST PARADE
Woonsocket – Autumnfest Parade Coordinator, Tom Gray, proudly announces that the headline band for the 45th Autumnfest Parade will be the Brooklyn United Marching Band from Brooklyn, New York.
Brooklyn United is New York City’s most prestigious Marching Band! This southern collegiate-style band, with its flair for unique and electrifying presentations, has grown to become one of the country's most prestigious marching bands. With over 80 appearances a year from South Africa to Norway to France, they bring amazing energy and passion to every performance!
The Brooklyn United Music and Arts Program is a community-based organization that serves New York City youth. As an art form, marching band combines the elements of musicianship and pageantry and allows each student to participate in an all-encompassing and life changing activity. Brooklyn United is focused on the development of youth through Academic Support, Character Development, Skills Building and Performance Opportunities. When members earn the right to perform through their academic achievements, displaying strong character and development in their musical skills, they will have an opportunity to show all they have earned in front of huge audiences.
“I am happy, excited and thankful that the Brooklyn United Marching Band is the Autumnfest Parade Headliner,” said Gray. “This year’s parade will be another fun-filled time with electrifying marching bands, floats and special entries. Plus, I want to thank the S. Dipardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home and Fast Signs of Worcester for sponsoring the Brooklyn United Marching Band.”
The Autumnfest Parade is Monday, Oct. 9, 2023. It begins at 9:30 AM and steps off from Diamond Hill Plaza on Diamond Hill Road, Woonsocket. The parade route travels down Diamond Hill Road and takes a left on to Social Street. The parade ends at the entrance to World War II Veterans Memorial Park, the home of Autumnfest.
