Book Buddies is a program where teen reading buddies ages 13-17 read with younger kids currently enrolled in 1st, 2nd or 3rd grade to build vocabulary and strengthen reading comprehension. This program does not teach reading skills. It does build upon already existing reading skills taught at home or in school.
Every Wednesday at 4pm on January 24, 31 & February 7, 14, 28 4-4:45pm
No Book Buddies February 21st as that is school vacation week.
Join us for some fun!
Children will read with a teen buddy.
Reading, Coloring, Puzzles, Craft
20 minutes of reading & 15 minutes of a craft or activity.
Register at the Children’s Desk Call 769-9044 Ext. 2
Please sign up prior to the start of the program so we can match younger children and teens for reading together. Teens can earn community service credit for school, sports or other organization.
Ask at the children’s room desk.
Snow Policy: If the weather is bad we will see you next class.
If school is canceled on the day of Book Buddies, stay home there is no program that day.
As we may not be able to make calls, cancellations will be posted on our Facebook page.
