AARP and RISD TO PRESENT ACCESSORY DWELLING UNIT (ADU) CONCEPTS AT THE STATE HOUSE
RISD Student Designs on Display on January 25
(PROVIDENCE, RI) – AARP Rhode Island tapped the skills and vision of some bright young minds in architecture and design to develop creative ADU concepts that showcase the range of benefits this important housing option can offer. Students from Rhode Island School of Design participated in an ADU design competition in November, the results of which will be on display at an interactive State House event. RISD students will present their ADU concepts and models to the public and talk about how they envisioned these designs for people to age in their communities.

The speaking program will include House Speaker Joseph Shekarchi, State Senators Meghan Kallman and Victoria Gu, State Representative June Speakman, Rhode Island School of Design Provost Touba Ghadess and RISD Associate Professor, Department Head, Interior Architecture Wolfgang Max Rudorf.
