Woonsocket Harris Public Library announces free programs for school vacation week February 19th to the 23rd.

 

Note the library is open on Monday February 19th President's Day.

 

Monday and Tuesday 2:30-4pm (Sign up for one of the two classes not both please)

Ages 8-17

Did you know that parasitic plants, fungi, & insects use chemicals to control the brains of non-human creatures to a ghastly, lethal end? Report to the library on February 19th or 20th 2:30-4pm. Trek through STEAM stations that teach about spores and their effects on insects. At the end of the program 3:30-4pm, you will be challenged to make a nerf style blow dart out of paper towel rolls and tape to try and attack our cardboard cut out Zombies. All participants ages 8-17 must have a parent permission form signed by parent or legal guardian to do the zombie challenge.

 

Wednesday Music for Kids with Mr. Muhammad 3-4pm

Little ones ages 4-8 and their caregivers are welcome to attend this musical program. Mr. Muhammad brings his guitar and sings songs. Drop in.

 

Thursday  Amazing Animal Ambassadors 2-3pm

Tickets required so we do not exceed room capacity. Call the library. Great for ages 2 and up. The child will be sitting with caregiver for an hour long presentation. 

Want to see some truly amazing animals at the library. Get your tickets starting February 12th. We recommend calling the library to reserve tickets as the fastest way to reserve. You can also email us just plan on a few days for us to read the email and confirm with you. 

 

Friday Teen Time 3-4:30pm

Open to middle and high school students. There are snacks and games to play so you can hang out with friends. Drop in.
