“Walking Rhode Island” with John Kostrzewa at the Woonsocket Harris Public Library
Spring is almost here, a great time to learn about Rhode Island’s many hiking trails! Join John E. Kostrzewa, author of the “Walking Rhode Island” column in the Providence Journal and a 2023 book of the same title, for an illustrated talk detailing John’s many years of hiking across Rhode Island. John’s presentation will include:
- How he started, where he's hiked, and what he's learned
- History, geological features, vegetation and wildlife along Rhode Island trails
- What makes Rhode Island’s trails unique, and
- Challenges Rhode Islanders face in maintaining our public preserves.
The program takes place from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2024 at the Woonsocket Harris Public Library, 303 Clinton Street, Woonsocket, RI.
