MONDAY: RIPTA to collect input on future

Providence Transit Center at public engagement session

WHAT: The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) and their development partner, Next Wave Rhode Island Partners (Next Wave Partners), will host the first in a series of public engagement sessions related to the future of RIPTA’s Providence transit center on Monday, May 13, 2024.

The interactive event will provide RIPTA riders and members of the community with an opportunity to share their opinions, feedback and priorities regarding a new, modern, state-of-the-art transit center. The team will also discuss the project’s overarching objectives and timeline moving forward.

The event will be held in an "Open House" format, allowing participants to attend at any time between 4 – 7 p.m. Spanish, Portuguese and American Sign Language interpreters will be available on-site to provide translation support as needed. Food, refreshments and activities for children will be provided.

Continuing a commitment to executing a robust and fully transparent planning and development process, information regarding future public engagement sessions, to be held both in-person and virtually, will be announced in the coming days.
