Mayor Beauchamp Announces Wednesday, July 3rd, Independence Day Celebration at WWII Veterans Memorial Park with Fantastic Fireworks, Food, and Free Festivities

WOONSOCKET, R.I.: Mayor Christorpher Beauchamp announced today that the City of Woonsocket’s annual Independence Day Celebration will occur on Wednesday, July 3rd, at WWII Veterans Memorial Park, with a rain date set for Friday, July 5th. The festivities will kick off at 4:00 PM with music from Wicked 80, an all 80’s party and dance band, and will conclude with a dazzling firework display at 9:00 PM following the National Anthem.

Mayor Beauchamp stated, "I want to invite the Woonsocket community to join our celebration to commemorate our country's freedom and reflect upon what we can achieve if we all work together to build a better community and country. Our residents can expect a fun time with family and friends at the beautiful outdoor setting of World War II Veterans Memorial Park while enjoying live music and watching our best fireworks display yet."

The Mayor expressed his gratitude to Parks Superintendent, Elizabeth Kerrigan and the city’s Public Works, Fire, and Police Departments for their commitment to making the event possible.

Multiple food and dessert trucks, community organizations, and vendor tables will be available at the event, and attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets.

In the event of bad weather, Woonsocket residents and visitors should tune in to local radio stations WOON and WNRI to find out the status of the Independence Day Celebration. The city will also announce a weather-related postponement of the event on its "Code RED" communications alert system.
