Woonsocket Mayoral Debate Announced: Mayor Chris Beauchamp and John Ward to Face Off
Woonsocket, RI – The Rhode Island League of Women Voters proudly presents a Woonsocket Mayoral Debate between incumbent Mayor Chris Beauchamp and challenger John Ward, hosted by Aging Well Inc. at the Gaston A. Ayotte Senior Center, 84 Social St., Woonsocket, RI. The debate will take place on Thursday, October 24th, at 7:00 PM and is open to the public.
The League of Women Voters, founded in 1920, has a long-standing commitment to fostering informed and active participation in government. Known for organizing and presenting debates, the League is dedicated to ensuring that voters have the information they need to make informed decisions, free from bias. Their involvement ensures a fair and balanced forum for this important local election.
Aging Well Inc. operates Woonsocket's Senior Center, where members can enjoy a wide range of activities. Membership is just $18 per year and includes access to daily free exercise and dance classes, bingo, musical events, meditation, educational opportunities, a pool table, table tennis, Wii, cribbage, and much more. Premium services such as special events, Reiki, manicures, and reflexology are offered at a low cost. A catered lunch is served weekdays at 11:30 AM for a $3 suggested donation, featuring soup, an entrée, side dish, dessert, and coffee/tea. This event offers the public a unique opportunity to hear directly from the candidates about their vision for Woonsocket’s future. The debate will be moderated by Dr. Joseph Cammarano, Associate Professor at Providence College.
The event is open to the public, with open seating and free on-site parking. Attendees are asked for a $5 suggested donation at the door to help offset costs for the event and to support Aging Well Inc.'s mission of serving Northern Rhode Island seniors.
