Stay safe during this heatwave!

Town of North Smithfield

July 19th, 2019 Edition

Message from Town Administrator

Gary Ezovski

Heat is the word of concern today. As noted below, drinking plenty of water is important in high heat conditions for both people and pets. Stay out of the sun and move air where possible. Be considerate of vulnerable populations. Also, be mindful that our individual efforts to wisely manage power use in high demand conditions like this could be the reason we avoid power outages. Using air conditioning reasonably could be important to everyone. Be safe, be cool, this weekend.

It was a pleasure once again to attend a Boy Scout Eagle Court last night. Brenden Silvia and Cameron Martin became our Troop 1139’s 69th and 70th Eagle Scouts.  Brenden is the son of Josh and Laurie Silvia. Cameron is the son of Scott and Karen Martin. Having the opportunity to attend events like these Eagle Courts where success is celebrated by dedicated young people who have thrived in the support of their family and the entire family of scouting is clearly a most encouraging circumstance. Congratulations to Brenden and Cameron on their achievement and to all who dedicate their time and talent to creating amazing learning environments for our young people.

Finally, I will once again congratulate the team of volunteers and town staff who organized NS Days from fitness mornings and movie nights through to the fireworks. We are indeed fortunate to be part of such a friendly, healthy, and energetic community. From the leadership of April Lombardi and John Beauregard to the helpful attitude of our school, police, fire, DPW and EMA crews and everyone in between I know I speak for all who attended the events when I say thank you!

North Smithfield's 2nd Annual Fireworks Display was a huge success.

Thank you to the following sponsors:

Brian Bucci from Dowling Village

Green Development, LLC.

Holliston Sand

(The fireworks were presented by John Beauregard, the Town of North Smithfield, and your local business community)
