Autumnfest Kick-Off Party Tickets

Woonsocket, RI – The 45th Autumnfest Celebration will be held Columbus Day Weekend (October 7-9) at World War II Veterans Memorial Park in Woonsocket.  The 2023 Autumnfest Steering Committee invites the community to the Autumnfest Kick-Off Party which will honor this year's Co-Grand Marshals, Bob & Nancy Phillips.

 

Bob Phillips is the State Representative for District 51 (Woonsocket & Cumberland) and he is also a full-time substitute teacher with the Woonsocket school system.  Bob is also a past member of the Autumnfest Steering Committee.  He spent 18 continuous yeas on the committee.  His last 2 years were in 2009 & 2010 where he was the Autumnfest General Chairperson.  Nancy Phillips is a retired Woonsocket Physical Education Teacher who continues to substitute teach with the Woonsocket school system.  She also volunteers 4 days a week at New Beginnings.  Nancy is the President of the Woonsocket Chapter of the Lions Club and is a past member of the Autumnfest Steering Committee serving for more than 30 years.

A limited number of tickets are available for the Autumnfest Kick-Off Party to be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Savini’s Pomodoro Italian Kitchen & Bar, 476 Rathbun Street, Woonsocket, RI from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM. Tickets are $35.00 per person, $60.00 per couple or a table of 8 for $300. Sponsor tables also available for $500 which includes a VIP table of 8, sponsor name at entry, sponsor name during ceremony, sponsor name on website page, complimentary bottle of champagne, and professional photo with our 2023 Co-Grand Marshals. Two children, ages eight and ten, are dead and 17 others are wounded after a gunman opened fire at a Catholic school in Minneapolis. Fourteen of the wounded are children, three adults, and all of them are expected to survive. Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara identified the shooter as 23-year-old Robin Westman, who shot through the church stained-glass windows of the Annunciation Church before dying from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.        A judge is keeping a man in the U.S. who was mistakenly deported by the Trump administration. A district judge has ruled that Kilmar Abrego Garcia must remain in the nation until after an evidentiary hearing scheduled for October 6th with testimony from Trump administration officials. Abrego Garcia is expected to remain in ICE custody until his upcoming hearing, and he is also separately seeking to renew his bid for asylum.        The Trump administration is planning to take over Union Station in Washington, DC. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy made the announcement today and said the station has fallen into disrepair. Duffy said they will help make the city safe and beautiful at a fraction of the cost by reclaiming management of the station.        The new CDC director is being ousted from the postion weeks after being confirmed. Susan Monarez was nominated by President Trump after he withdrew his first choice over concerns related to Dave Weldon's views on vaccines and autism. Monarez is a longtime federal government scientist.        A man who threw a sandwich at a federal agent in Washington, D.C. is not being indicted by a grand jury. The U.S. attorney's office in Washington had sought an indictment in a felony assault case. Sean Dunn, who is seen on video striking the officer in the chest with sandwich after saying they are not wanted in DC, admitted to the incident after he was arrested.        If you're planning to hit the road for the Labor Day holiday, Triple-A has the best, and worst times to travel. The best times to drive to and from your Labor Day destination are: Friday before noon, Saturday between 6 and 10 a.m., Sunday before 11 a.m., and Monday before noon. The worst times include: Friday between noon and 8 p.m., Saturday between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., Sunday between noon and 5 p.m., and Monday between 1 and 4 p.m.
