Food is not provided at regular jamborees - you may bring in food but absolutely NO beverages please- Beverages can be purchased in the VFW Hall- Thanks

National Night Out

            Woonsocket Police Department will be hosting National Night Out on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at River Island Park from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.  Food, drinks, and entertainment will be provided free of charge.  There will be music, a Moon Bounce, Police K9 Demonstrations, Forensic Unit Displays, SRT (SWAT) Team Displays, a smoke house simulator, bike giveaway and more.

STATE HOUSE – Kindergartners in Woonsocket will attend school all day this year, subject to School Committee approval, thanks to money included in the 2014 state budget to fund full-day kindergarten in the city.

Dog Found~

 A very thin, tan and white male staffordshire terrier pit bull was just picked up in the vicinity of the 1100 Pound Hill Road area this morning. The animal has a black harness and has been roaming the area for several weeks. He is in the Animal Shelter at this time.  If you know of anyone who has lost this animal or if you have any information please contact the Animal Control office at 766-0377.

Town Tax Bills Mailed

Most of you will be receiving your tax bills this week. If you made significant improvements to your property, you will see an increase in taxes, however, most residents will see a reduction in taxes.

 Please note that the lock box in Boston, which had been used to mail tax payments, is no longer in service.
