The Woonsocket Harris Public Library is pleased to announce that Beanstack, our new online summer reading book recording system for grades K-12 will begin on Monday July 6th.

Simply go to www.woonsocketlibrary.org/summer-reading to find the Beanstack link and register. You can record the books you have read and write a summary while earning online badges and real life prizes. Free prizes will be geared to the readers grade level and may include books, bookbags, stickers and bookmarks, a mystery prize, and grab and go activity kits. All prizes will be distributed by contactless curbside pickup by appointment only with the children's or teen librarians.

President Trump says he spoke with Russia's President Vladimir Putin today. Trump said, "it was a good conversation, but not a conversation that will lead to immediate Peace" in Ukraine. He said Putin told him Russia will have to respond to Ukraine's recent drone attack on its airfields.        There's a federal investigation to the family of the suspect in the antisemitic attack that injured 15 people in Colorado. The feds are looking to see if Mohamed Soliman's wife and five children knew anything about the attack. The family has been captured and is now in ICE custody for expedited removal.        Republican Senators are gathering at the White House to discuss President Trump's so called Big Beautiful Bill. Elon Musk called the bill a "disgusting abomination yesterday", while House Speaker Mike Johnson said his comments were "very disappointing" as he works to get it passed. Republican Senators Rand Paul and Mike Lee backed Musk's criticism, while Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene expressed regret for voting yes on the measure.        Police who've seen an Instagram post attributed to one of the New Orleans jail escapees raided an apartment where they thought the video was recorded. On the post, escapee Antoine Massey is dressed in a blue sweatsuit, claiming to be innocent. Police who raided an apartment not far from the Orleans Parish Prison found a sweatsuit, but no Massey. Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry says the two inmates who escaped 20 days ago should stop playing hide and seek and turn themselves in.        The manhunt for an escaped killer known as the "Devil in the Ozarks" is now in its second week. Grant Hardin is a 56-year-old one-time police chief who broke out of an Arkansas prison on May 25th by disguising        The Indiana Pacers are already dealing with thunder even before the NBA Finals even start. The team faced a lengthy delay yesterday getting to Oklahoma City due to severe weather in the area. Their flight had to be diverted to Tulsa to refuel since it wasn't able to land in Oklahoma City.
