President Trump is rebranding the Department of Defense as the Department of War. The president signed an executive order Friday that makes Department of War a secondary title along with Secretary of War for Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. Trump says the rebranding sends a message of victory and strength, adding he's been able to achieve peace in several global conflicts because the U.S. is strong.        A federal judge says the Trump administration can't end temporary protected status for thousands of Venezuelan and Haitian immigrants. The Obama-appointed California judge ruled Friday the attempt to end the program for certain migrants was illegal. The ruling restores TPS extensions granted during the Biden administration that run into 2026. The Trump administration can appeal the decision.        New York City Mayor Eric Adams is not planning to end his re-election campaign. Today, Adams addressed reports he was going to drop out at the request of President Trump to bolster former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in an effort to defeat Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani. Adams said he's not dropping out, and plans to be mayor for the next four years.        ICE agents are hitting the streets in Boston. When reports of the surge came out earlier this week, Michelle Wu, the Democratic mayor of Boston, accused President Trump of "attacking" her city to hide his "administration's failures." Reports say ICE may be planning a similar surge in Chicago.        President Trump is denying knowledge of a botched Navy SEAL mission in North Korea that resulted in civilian deaths. The New York Times reported SEAL Team 6 was there in 2019 to plant a surveillance device ahead of a nuclear summit. The report says the SEALs encountered a North Korean fishing boat shortly after reaching shore and opened fire on it, killing three fishermen. When asked about it in the Oval Office Friday, Trump said "I'm hearing it now for the first time."        CBS News won't edit interviews taped for "Face The Nation" going forward. The news company issued a statement explaining that "in response to audience feedback" 'Face The Nation' will now only broadcast live or live-to-tape interviews." The announcement follows complaints from Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem after her appearance on the show earlier this week. She accused CBS News of making selective edits to her interview. CBS News said it was edited for time and made the full interview available on YouTube.
