Speaker Shekarchi to host author Douglas Brinkley at State House

 

STATE HOUSE – At the invitation of Speaker K. Joseph Shekarchi, author Douglas Brinkley will give a lecture at the State House on Thursday on his 2022 book, Silent Spring Revolution: John F. Kennedy, Rachel Carson, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, and the Great Environmental Awakening.

The lecture will take place on Thursday, January 24 at 3:00 p.m. in the House Lounge (second floor) of the State House. Douglas Brinkley is an author, history commentator for CNN, Presidential Historian for the New York Historical Society, and a contributing editor to Vanity Fair magazine. His recent book Cronkite won the Sperber Prize, while The Great Deluge: Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf Coast received the Robert F. Kennedy Book Award.
