Since 1993, hundreds of thousands of passengers have come aboard The Explorer to learn and discover interesting facts about Rhode Island’s Blackstone Valley, and enjoy the quiet beauty many are often surprised to find!

Guided Kayak Group Tours

Blackstone River Expeditions is excited to offer 90-minute guided kayak group tours on the Blackstone River departing from Central Falls Landing. On your journey you’ll learn about the Blackstone River Valley and explore the hidden spots along the river with the chance to see the many species of wildlife that call this waterway home including egrets, painted turtles, cormorants, osprey, and “Sam” the lone mute swan.

President Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill" has passed in the Senate. Republicans worked through the night as they resolved differences on how to fund the bill's tax cuts. The spending bill now heads back to the House.        President Trump says he'll "take a look" into deporting Elon Musk, who is originally from South Africa. Trump also said DOGE is a monster that might have to go back and eat Musk. His comments come after Musk shared criticism about Trump's Big Beautiful Bill, calling for a new political party that would actually care about the people.        Sean "Diddy" Combs' fate is in the jury's hands. Things got off to a rocky start Monday with the foreperson sending a note to the judge about concerns that one juror cannot follow his instructions. The judge sent a note back reminding them of their lawful duty and told them to keep deliberating.        The man charged with killing four University of Idaho students in 2022 is accepting a plea deal. News first broke Monday that Bryan Kohberger has accepted a plea deal that takes the death penalty off the table in exchange for him pleading guilty to committing the four murders and serving life. Multiple sources say Kohberger will be sentenced to four consecutive life sentences and must waive all rights to appeal.        The number of job openings unexpectedly jumped in May. The Labor Department says seven-point-eight million jobs were available which is up from seven-point-four million in April. Economists had expected the number of available jobs to dip slightly after April's bounce.        K-Pop superstars BTS are plotting their return. The group announced during a livestream Tuesday that they'll be releasing new music in next spring as well as going out on a world tour. BTS has been on hiatus since 2022 while members completed mandatory military service in South Korea.
