    A. Discussion by Council, Vote or other Action on Petition/Application for an Amendment to     the Zoning Ordinance Pursuant to R.I. Gen. Laws §§ 45-24-50 and 45-24-51 - 45-24-53 as     follows:
        1. Petition/Application for Amendment to Zoning Ordinance filed by Pound Hill Realty,             LLC, c/o 618 Greenville Road, North Smithfield, RI 02896, the owner of the parcel of land         situated off Old Oxford Road, Pound Hill Road and Pine Hill Road in the Town of North         Smithfield, more particularly described as Town of North Smithfield Tax Assessor’s Plat 7,         lot 38, consisting of 89.44 acres (subject property).
        2. Text amendment and a zoning map amendment to the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of
        North Smithfield (the “Zoning Ordinance”). The proposed zoning amendment will create a
        new zoning district “Industrial Special Management District 1 Overlay,” the intent of the
        district is to allow mining, quarrying, sand and gravel extraction, loam stripping, stone
        cutting operations, crushing, washing, and/or processing of materials. The zoning map
        amendment proposes to amend the zoning designation of the parcel of land located at 14         Pine Hill Road in the Town of North Smithfield, more specifically described as Assessor’s         Plat: 7, Lot: 38 (the “Property”) from Rural Agricultural (RA) & Rural Estate Agricultural         (REA) to Industrial Special Management District 1 Overlay.

The relationship between President Trump and Elon Musk may be over. Musk has been critical of Trump's "big beautiful bill" since ending his time at DOGE, and today, Trump said he asked Musk "to leave" his administration. Earlier today, Musk said Trump's so-called "big beautiful bill" was never shown to him and passed in the House in the "dead of night." Musk added Trump would not have won the election without him.        The Supreme Court is siding with a straight woman in a reverse discrimination case. The justices ruled unanimously and it could create an easier path in some areas of the U.S. for people in majority groups to bring discrimination claims. Marlean Ames sued the Ohio Department of Youth Services, after a lesbian was given a promotion she applied for. She would later be demoted and her old position was given to a gay man.        The judge in the Sean "Diddy" Combs sex crime trial in New York is warning the rap mogul to stop making facial expressions at jurors. The judge said it was unacceptable and threatened to kick Combs out if it continued. Meanwhile, a woman only being referred to as "Jane" is taking the stand, who allegedly participated in commercial sex acts due to a "result of force, fraud or coercion." Diddy has pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking and other charges.        President Trump says a phone call with China's president went well. Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump confirmed he spoke with Xi Jinping [[ she jeen-peeng ]] and trade talks with China are in "very good shape." The President also said teams from China and the U.S. will meet soon.        The NBA Finals will begin tonight in Oklahoma City. The Thunder will play host to the Indiana Pacers for game one. OKC is making their first Finals appearance since 2012 while Indy is back on the big stage for the first time in 25 years. Tip-off is set for 8:30 p.m. Eastern.        The first trailer for the sequel to "Wicked" is out now. "Wicked: For Good" will cover the second act of the popular Broadway musical. Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Jonathan Bailey, Jeff Goldblum and Michelle Yeoh all return from the first film. "Wicked: For Good" will hit theaters November 21st.
