Hayward on Monday, June 27th at 11:00 AM as he welcomes Don Epifano, District Director of the U.S. Department of Labor - Wage & Hour Division (Providence, RI & Hartford, CT). DD Hayward and DD Epifano will discuss, among other topics, compliance assistance that is offered to small businesses, what happens if your business is investigated, and labor market impacts.

Don Epifano Don Epifano, District Director of U.S. Department of Labor - Wage & Hour Division (Providence, RI & Hartford, CT)

Don Epifano began his career with the U.S. Department of Labor - Wage and Hour Division (WHD), after graduating from UConn and Roger Williams Law. As District Director of the Hartford District Office, he leads Wage and Hour offices in Connecticut and Rhode Island. The staff consist of about 10 investigators, a community outreach specialist, 3 three support staff members, and 2 supervisors. The WHD enforces federal minimum wage, overtime pay, recordkeeping, and child labor requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Additionally, WHD enforces about 10 other laws including FMLA, government contracts under the Davis Bacon and Service Contract Act, and immigration laws including H-2B, H-1B, H-2A.

In 2021, the District Office found $2.7m due workers and conducted 90 outreach events to stakeholders.
