“This year, more than ever, the 92nd annual Milk Fund Appeal is important as more and more local families are in dire need of help due to the ongoing pandemic”, related Dave Richards, WOON station manager and long-time Board memberRichards serves as chief auctioneer during the radio auction which begins on Friday, November 24 and continues through Friday, December 22. The auction will run from 4-5 p.m.weekdays and from 6-9 a.m. on Saturdays during Berthiaume’s weekly “Saturday Show” program. The auction has become one of the major fundraisers for the Milk Fund over the past few years.

In order to achieve success, the Committee depends largely upon the generosity of area businesses and private donorsItems such as gift cards and small appliances like coffee makers, toasters, can openers and electric mixers have proven to be most popular in the pastThe Auction Committee realize that this year’s inflationary situation (the price of milk has risen to $3.99 per gallon) has contributed to a dire need for assistance)Any donation, small or large, will be gratefully accepted. Berthiaume is appealing to potential donors to come forward with various auction items that will be of interest to the radio audienceHe is also asking that those wishing to make cash donations to the auction committee can send checks made out to “Milk Fund Inc.” to the radio station at 985 Park Ave., Woonsocket, RI 02895.  The cash will be used to purchase various gift cards which have proven to be the most popular items that are auctioned.
