Good afternoon

Tonight, we have some lane shifts on Route 146, at the Hawkins Street Bridge in Providence and at the Breakneck Hill Road Bridge in Lincoln. Both will be in place through the end of the year.

_

Broad Street Regeneration, Cumberland

We recently paved Broad Street, from the Railroad Bridge to Elizabeth Street, and we are scheduled to pave from Elizabeth Street to Meeting Street on Sunday and Monday nights, August 6 and 7. Meanwhile, as we continue daytime utility structure adjustments, southbound traffic will continue following the signed detour, with alternating one-way traffic as needed, from Elizabeth Street to Meeting Street, weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

_

Henderson Bridge, East Providence

On the bridge up to South Angell Street, motorists can anticipate overnight alternating one-way traffic for drainage installation, Wednesday and Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Weekday activities not requiring lane closures will include retaining wall construction and rebar installation and formwork on the bridge deck.

_

I-95 North Viaduct, Providence

Motorists can anticipate alternating lane closures on both directions of I-95, from Exits 37A to Exit 39A, to place and remove steel, Sunday-Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. This operation will also require the closure of Route 6 under the I-95 North Viaduct, from Memorial Boulevard to the Dean Street overpass, Sunday-Thursday nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Park Street, from Hayes Street to Smith Street, will also be closed for daytime drainage and electrical work, weekdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please follow signed detours during all closures.

Pell Bridge Ramps Phase 2, Newport

We are scheduled to shift Admiral Kalbfus Road west traffic onto the new pavement on Thursday night, August 3. This involves alternating lane closures on Admiral Kalbfus Road, from Malbone Road to the roundabout, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. The following week, roadway reclamation and paving are anticipated Sunday to Thursday nights during the same time period. Admiral Kalbfus Road will be reduced from four lanes to two, and the intersection of Admiral Kalbfus Road and Halsey Boulevard will be closed during those hours. Please follow signed detour.

A temporary gravel surface will be in place along sections of Admiral Kalbfus Road as we grade and prepare for new pavement. Please drive slowly as construction vehicles will be frequently entering and leaving the work zone along Admiral Kalbfus Road. Navy base commuters can continue to utilize the new JT Connell roadway south of the roundabout and the Connector Road for an easy alternative access point to the bridge to avoid the Admiral Kalbfus work zone. Sidewalks along the north side will be temporarily closed and pedestrians will need to follow signage to avoid the construction area.

Elsewhere traffic signal and electrical work is planned site-wide including mast arm foundation installation. The bridge rehabilitation work will also continue along Route 138 at the Third Street, Newport Secondary and JT Connell overpasses and may require temporary lane shifts along Third Street and JT Connell Highway as needed. Flaggers and police details remain to help guide vehicles.

Reservoir Avenue Railroad Bridge, Providence

Progress continues at the bridge as we install pedestrian and bridge railing on the west sidewalk, curbing and sidewalks at the bridge approaches, and conduit for the enhanced vehicular and pedestrian traffic signals.

Route 6/10 Interchange Reconstruction, Providence

A daytime right lane closure is scheduled along Route 10 South, from the 6/10 split to the Union Avenue Bridge, Monday-Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This will allow us to do drainage work at the Union Avenue Bridge and pave the widened section of its off-ramp from Route 10 South. Additional operations anticipated for next week include forming and installing steel supports on the eastbound section of the Huntington Viaduct, and doing landscaping on Route 10 North, from Broadway to Tobey Street. Behind barrier, we also plan to grade and pave the widened section of Route 10 North, from Broadway to Tobey Street, waterproof the deck at the Tobey Street Bridge, and drive piles during the day along the railroad tracks under the former ramp from Route 6 East to Route 10 South.

Washington Bridge, East Providence/Providence

We recently reopened Waterfront Drive and permanently closed Valley Street between Taunton Avenue and Warren Avenue. Motorists can continue to use the Connector Road and Waterfront Drive to detour.
