An indictment, information, or complaint is merely an allegation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Attorney General Peter F. Neronha announced that a Woonsocket man and woman have been charged in Providence County Superior Court for their roles in the abuse of a child with a BB gun.

On September 12, 2023, the Office of the Attorney General charged Paul Marcheterre (age 37) with one count of second-degree child abuse, one count of felony assault, and one count of disorderly conduct. The Office also charged Ann Doyon (28) with one count of child endangerment.

As alleged in the criminal information, on May 21, 2023, Paul Marcheterre shot a child who was known to him with a BB gun at a residence in Woonsocket. It is alleged that Ann Doyon failed to intervene in the assault against the child who was in her custody.

The defendants are scheduled for a pre-arraignment conference on January 25, 2024 in Providence County Superior Court.
