Mayor Baldelli-Hunt Announces Monday, August 14th Unveiling of Memorial Honoring Woonsocket’s WWll Heroes Who Never Returned Home
WOONSOCKET, R.I.: Today Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt and the United Veterans Council of Woonsocket announced that on Victory Day, Monday, August 14th at World War II Veterans Memorial Park there will be an unveiling of a memorial honoring Woonsocket’s World War II military heroes who died serving our country and are buried overseas. The event will take place at 4:00 PM. All are invited.
The Mayor lauded the considerable efforts of the United Veterans Council of Woonsocket in researching the names of Woonsocket’s World War II soldiers who never returned home and creating an inspiring memorial structure in their honor. The Mayor also thanked members of her administration for their commitment to coordinating multiple details to accomplish this project.
